Internet Safety

Today, I was shown a video about Internet safety.  I post a lot of things online, so it really got me to thinking.  I love sharing various things about me, especially photos of me and my family (mostly my family.  I don't take pictures of myself as much as I used to.  I have several social media accounts--some are personal and some are for business or for a specific purpose.  For example, I have a personal twitter account that's private and a "work-related" account that is currently public.  I love writing and twitter and Facebook fit into that category for me.
But after watching the video, I thought some more about my online presence.  I Googled my name and I wasn't happy to see so much of my information available on the Internet.  I know some people use aliases, but how will my friends be able to find me if I don't use my name?  Honestly, I wanted to delete all of my social media accounts and perhaps start over.  However, I post things for a reason.  I want others to read, view, and enjoy what I put out into cyberspace.  When I post, I'm sharing myself with my friends and family.  There's nothing wrong with that, right?
Still, I plan to think even longer about sharing my information.  How do you manage your social media?  Watch the video and decide if you need to make a change?
