What a scare!

Today, I was in my room working on something on my computer.  Emmai had been in his room working on homework.  He and Elissa were making a bunch of noise laughing, moving around the room, etc.  Then, his laughter begins to sound like crying.  The crying starts to sound like an "I'm hurt" cry.  Yes, there's definitely something distinctive in a cry and cries mean different things.  I knew something was wrong, but I was not prepared for what I saw.

Emmai came into my room crying and all I saw was blood pouring out of his head.  Not what I expected at all.  He was kind of holding his head down and I didn't know if he had a hole in his head or what.  I immediately began praying as I tried to examine him and get him into the bathroom.  Thank God, there was nothing in his head.  I put some toilet paper to his head and applied pressure to the deep gash.  When I asked what happened, he said something about Elissa chasing him.  He wasn't clear when he was telling me what he hit his head on, but I think he was saying he hit it on her bed.

Eventually, I got him to calm down--after I remembered to calm down.  Then, I was able to clean him up.  We had a talk.  I explained to him how something similar happened to me as a child.  We talked to both kids about the importance of being obedient and not running and playing in the house.  Last, Rodney prayed.

You just never know what can happen in a moment.  I thank God that things weren't  worse.  I will definitely continue to keep my family covered in prayer.
