Baltimore Opens City Curfew Center « CBS Baltimore

The 8th graders at my school took a field trip to Baltimore to the National Aquarium. As my group and I walked down the street, a reporter stopped the group I was chaperoning to interview them. At first they told her no lol, because they were from out of town. But, since they also have curfews in Emporia, they were qualified to respond to her questions. I was so proud of them!

Last Day of School!!!

Today was the last day of school.  I have completed 2 years at my current workplace.  I had some really good students this year.  I will miss them.  I have one workday next week and a workshop the week after and then I am FREE for the summer!  My next big thing is planning my daughter's 2nd birthday party.  In addition to that I have to plan trips to the beach, probably Kings Dominion again, and whatever else my son wants to do.  Oh, I know he really wants to go to Durham.  I'm thinking the first joy of summer vacation is sleeping in.  But, that unfortunately depends on my kids.

Surprise at church



Today after the Sunday morning worship, our church held its annual Education and Scholarship banquet.  A new award was given, the "Family Unity Award", and it was given to my family for our participation in church.  What an honor!  God is continuing to bless my family.

Our church pianist, Emma P.  Harrison, wanted us to have the award.  She is currently hospitalized as is my grandmother-in-law, Emma Pierce.  We are in prayer that they will both return home well.  Our family hopes to make both Emmas proud.
