Praise Report

I don't blog everything that I could, but today I definitely have to share my testimony with you.  God has been extremely good to me.  He has brought me so far in just a year.  This academic year has been challenging for sure.  In addition to having two rambunctious, but wonderful young children, I have more students and more pressure at work.  In two semesters, I took all the classes necessary to become endorsed in gifted education.  I was out of work for two weeks to be with my mom.  I've been getting money deducted from my paycheck for the past 3 months because I have exhausted my sick days.  I have devoted myself to being a more active member in my church.  I am exercising more to keep my blood pressure, stress, and "fat" (lol) under control.  I am editing my cousin's first book.  And, I am still on my way to being in management with my Mary Kay business.  There were times when I just wanted to quit.  There were times when I almost did just that.  There were times when I asked myself what in the world I had gotten myself into or why I didn't just say no to something.  Through it all, God has been so faithful to me.

He has given me all of the support I needed through family, friends, spiritually-led people, co-workers, smiling and loving students, and words of encouragement and reassurance from my Bible, literature, and media.  My pastor told me that God would reward me for my diligence and my cup is indeed running over.  I am truly blessed.

Today, I am really excited.  Let me tell you why.  Well, today was the big day for my 8th graders.  They took their Reading 8 SOL this morning.  I got the results this afternoon and they blew me away.  I have had a tough time with quite a few ]
of my students for various reasons.  They definitely were a challenging group.  Lots of times I wondered if I was wasting my breath.  But, of my 62 students who tested, 59 of them passed.  So, 95% of my students passed and the ones who did not were only a few questions away from passing!  This is probably the most amazing thing that has happened to me since I've been a teacher.  I'm not sure I even know how to act yet.  But, I wanted to publicly thank God because He did it all for me.  He heard my prayers.  He favored me.

To God be the glory for the things He has done!

Matthew 6:33 states,"But seek ye first the kingdom of God,and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Amen!
